SafeRide Program and Campus Shuttle System

It is suggested that you not walk on campus alone after dark and that you travel only on lighted pathways, particularly in the wooded areas. If you can't find someone to walk with you, avail yourself of UNC Charlotte's SafeRide Program. Additionally, safety escorts are available as staffing permits by contacting the University Police (7-2200).

The campus offers a FREE Campus Shuttle System to all students, faculty, staff, and guests. For more information, please visit the Parking and Transportation Services website or call 7-4285.

SafeRide is the campus disability and safety campus transport service. Electric vehicles provide transportation within the inner campus for individuals with mobility impairments during daytime hours (Disability Transport) and across the campus for everyone during the evening hours (Safety Transport). These vehicles complement the shuttle system rather than duplicate accessible transportation to areas already covered. For more information, visit the SafeRide website or call 7-4285.

Community Watch Program

The Residence Halls at UNC Charlotte participate in a Community Watch Program. If you wish to join in this collective effort to keep our campus safe or need additional information, please visit our Safety Zone website or see your RA or RM.
